Why you should use Ccleaner
There is a great piece of freeware out there called Ccleaner, formally Crap Cleaner. The average computer user has a ton of junk files on their computer. From visiting the internet alone you get temp pictures, cookies, all kinds of junk that you really don't want on your computer. If you download crap cleaner, just look for it in google, you'll find a great utility that easy to use and will both clean up your temp files and your registry. It only takes a minute or two to run, and I've found it can even help with spyware and viruses as many of them are from temp files. So, give it a shot.
