What happened to Star Trek Online?
Star Trek Online seems to have died and been reborn. It was first developed by Perpetual Entertainment. However, as has happened recently with many other software developers they could not stay afloat and were purchased. A very promising MMO that has been in development for a very long tiurchase in game items from a company store. This usually has the effect of unbalancing the game, as any advantage in the game naturally progresses from skill based to who has spent the most money buying items. However, there is now some hope. "In early March 2008 the official Star Trek Online website posted a notice of 'coming soon', implying that the domain had been transferred to a new company and the game was once again under development. On 13 March, Star Trek news site TrekMovie.com reported having confirmed with "sources" that the new developer is Cryptic Studios, as had been the rumor for several weeks.[5]" -- Wikipedia Article "Star Trek Online" If you would like to brush up on your Star Trek again, you can purchase Star Trek DVD's for all the series from www.startrekdvd.info.
