Microsoft Software License Tips

CHECK YOUR SOFTWARE LICENSE, YOU MAY BE IN FOR A SURPRISE!!

Something I learned a while back, it pays to read the software licenses for the products you buy, especially from Microsoft. For one thing, you learn for a certainty that when you get a product like Windows XP or Vista it is made for that machine and you stand a good chance of losing the rights to use it if you install it on another. 15 plus years of software piracy has made Microsoft very picky about such things. However, if you get products such as Microsoft Office or Microsoft Expressions (The new Front Page) you might be in for a big surprise. You are allowed to install the software on two devices as long as the following requirements are met.

1. One is a desktop

2. One is a portable device such as a laptop

3. Both belong to the same person who is the primary user of those computers

So, just a quick tip to save you some money. If you are getting software for your new desktop and you want to be able to take the same software on the road, you may be good to go, with the blessings of Microsoft to boot.
