How to Use your Computer if Windows is corrupted
Ever turned on your computer and gotten the dreaded blue screen of death because your registry is corrupted or a system file is missing? You now have hours of repair ahead of you to restore your system, but maybe you just really need to get online for a bit to get a file, or pull one needed file off of your computer. Well, if you have a Knoppix CD laying around your golden. Just pop it in and boot off of it and your given a fully functional Operating System running off of a CD. Its Linux, but its a rather user friendly version of it. You can surf the net, do E-mail, get on a network with Samba, use Open Office to create a document, play games, use all the popular instant messaging programs, even get to files on your computer as long as the hard drive is still functional. Its a life saver and a pretty useful utility. You can download it at www.knoppix.net. Just be aware that its going to be a .iso file and you'll need Nero or a shareware program like Power ISO (linked below) to burn it to a CD.
